The Grand Happiness Foundation was founded in 2011 as part of Grand Home Furnishings’s 100th anniversary celebration. Grand spent the year working closely with organizations, providing furniture and mattresses or volunteer time. It was an honor for us to assist these organizations, many of whom aren’t in the spotlight and all work hard year around with limited budgets.

American Red Cross Donation

Donate blood and get a coupon to Grand Home Furnishings

As Grand seeks to support organizations invested in helping our communities, it’s hard to find one that competes with the American Red Cross in either the breadth or length (since 1881) of their mission. Though the organization has expanded its services over the years, its aim has always been to prevent and relieve suffering.

One of their most-known services is hosting blood drives to ensure that anyone who needs blood can get it. This year’s unexpected and frequent snowstorms have canceled many of their scheduled drives, which has depleted the area’s blood supply.

In an effort to help them replenish, Grand is partnering with the Red Cross and enlisting your help. You give blood and we’ll give you a $50 gift card – it’s that simple. Anyone who donates blood between February 21st and March 5th will receive a $50 Grand Home Furnishings gift card. The Red Cross will give all donors a certificate of donation. All you have to do is bring it into our Lynchburg, Christiansburg and Roanoke locations and we’ll exchange it for a gift card. (Not valid at the Grand outlets in Roanoke and Westlake.)

The Red Cross will also be at Grand’s Warehouse Outlet Sale this weekend, passing out coffee to shoppers and taking reservations for blood donations. For more information on all that the American Red Cross does in our communities, visit http://www.redcross.org. Please join us in our efforts to strengthen their cause.

Bristol Motor Speedway will be holding the “Grand Week of Giving” at Speedway In Lights this week. One lucky patron will win $1,000 to spend at Grand Home Furnishings as well as one Speedway Children’s Charities-supported agency $2,000 to spend at Grand.

For the past 3 years Grand Home Furnishings has supported Speedway Children’s Charities by donating furniture for their events. These furniture donations become prizes for Speedway Children’s Charities fundraisers. Grand Home Furnishings furniture prizes are given in connection with the Speedway Children’s Charities “Sharky 500″ rubber shark race in October and Speedway in Lights held late November through early January.

Through the Grand Happiness Foundation we are pleased to have expanded our donation to Speedway Children’s Charities for the Speedway in Lights fundraiser.
