Our favorite part about this Gesture, besides helping a very worthy organization, is that it reminds us how attached we get to the communities around our stores. Even though Grand Home Furnishings’ Covington store closed March 2006 after 55 years, the employees still have substantial physical and emotional ties to the area, and wanted to invest in it.

Ray Thomas, manager of Grand Home Furnishings Roanoke Outlet, is a Covington resident and has spearheaded efforts for the Lewisburg and Lexington employees from the Covington area to salute the town by doing a Grand Gesture. As a result, employees from Grand Home Furnishings- Roanoke Outlet spent August 4th delivering furniture to Safehome Systems, an emergency shelter for domestic violence victims. (more…)
